চেষ্টার অভাব কখনো সমস্যা ছিল না। চারপাশে তাকালেই দেখবেন, অসংখ্য তরুণের হাতে সার্টিফিকেট আছে, কিন্তু কাজের স্কিল নেই। চাকরির বাজারে গিয়ে তারা ধাক্কা খায়। স্বপ্ন আছে, পরিশ্রম করার ইচ্ছাও আছে, নেই শুধু ঠিক পথটা।A lack of effort was never the problem. Look around and you will see plenty of young people holding certificates with no working skill behind them. They hit a wall in the job market. The dream is there, the willingness to work is there, what is missing is the right route.

When someone says they know graphic design, what does an employer actually want to see? Not the certificate, but the work you have made. In an interview the question is what have you built, not which course did you take.

A certificate says you attended a course. A skill says you can get a job done. Employers and clients pay for the second one.

• সার্টিফিকেট: কোর্সের নাম, সময়কাল, একটা সিল। যাচাই করা কঠিন, আর প্রায় সবার কাছেই আছে।A certificate: a course name, a duration, a stamp. Hard to verify, and nearly everyone has one.
• স্কিলের প্রমাণ: আপনার বানানো ৫টা ডিজাইন, একটা ওয়েবসাইট, একটা হিসাবের শিট, একটা ভিডিও। চোখের সামনে দেখা যায়, আর আলাদা করে চেনা যায়।Proof of skill: five designs you made, a website, a working sheet, a video. Visible, and distinctly yours.

ভালো খবর হলো, দ্বিতীয়টা বানাতে টাকা লাগে না। লাগে সময়, নিয়ম আর হাতে-কলমে কাজ। কিন্তু তার আগে তিনটা দেয়াল সরাতে হয়।The good news is that building the second one costs nothing. It takes time, routine and hands-on work. But first, three walls have to come down.

দেয়াল ১: খরচWall 1: cost

সবচেয়ে বড় ভুল ধারণাটা এখানেই: ভালো কিছু শিখতে হলে দামি কোর্স কিনতে হবে। বাস্তবতা হলো, আজকের প্রায় প্রতিটা ডিজিটাল স্কিলের ভালো মানের ফ্রি রিসোর্স আছে, আর বেশিরভাগ পেশাদার টুলের ফ্রি ভার্সনই নতুনদের জন্য যথেষ্ট।The biggest misconception sits right here: that learning anything good means buying an expensive course. The reality is that almost every digital skill today has solid free material, and the free version of most professional tools is more than enough for a beginner.

• ডিজাইন: Canva-র ফ্রি ভার্সন আর Figma-র ফ্রি প্ল্যান দিয়ে পেশাদার কাজ করা যায়। ছবি এডিটের জন্য ফ্রি টুল GIMP বা Photopea।Design: the free versions of Canva and Figma are enough for professional work. For photo editing, GIMP or Photopea cost nothing.
• অফিস কাজ: MS Office কিনতে না পারলে Google Docs আর Google Sheets ব্যবহার করুন। শেখা একই, আর এক পয়সাও লাগে না।Office work: if you cannot buy MS Office, use Google Docs and Google Sheets. The learning is the same and the cost is zero.
• কোডিং: VS Code ফ্রি, freeCodeCamp ফ্রি, আর ব্রাউজারেই কোড চালানোর ফ্রি জায়গা আছে অনেক।Coding: VS Code is free, freeCodeCamp is free, and there are plenty of free places to run code right in the browser.
• AI টুল: ChatGPT, Gemini আর Claude, তিনটারই ফ্রি ভার্সন আছে, আর শেখার কাজে ফ্রি ভার্সনই যথেষ্ট। শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য ফ্রি AI টুলের তালিকাটা দেখে নিতে পারেন।AI tools: ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude all have free tiers, and the free tier is plenty for learning. See the list of free AI tools for students.

তাহলে সত্যিকারের খরচ কোনগুলো? সৎভাবে বললে তিনটা: ইন্টারনেট ডেটা, বিদ্যুৎ আর আপনার সময়। প্রথম দুটো অনেকের জন্যই কষ্টের, কিন্তু সেগুলোরও পথ আছে। রাতের সস্তা ডেটা প্যাক ব্যবহার করে ভিডিও ডাউনলোড করে রাখুন, পরে অফলাইনে দেখুন। কলেজ বা পাবলিক লাইব্রেরির ওয়াইফাই কাজে লাগান। এক মোবাইল ডেটা দুই-তিন বন্ধু মিলে হটস্পট করে ভাগ করুন।So what does actually cost money? Honestly, three things: internet data, electricity and your time. The first two are a real burden for many, but there are ways around them. Use cheap night-time data packs to download videos and watch them offline later. Use the wifi at your college or a public library. Share one mobile connection between two or three friends over a hotspot.

দেয়াল ২: ভাষাWall 2: language

দ্বিতীয় দেয়ালটা বেশি বাস্তব: সেরা টিউটোরিয়াল, ডকুমেন্টেশন আর কোর্স প্রায় সবই ইংরেজিতে। অনেকে এখানেই থেমে যান, আর ভাবেন আগে ইংরেজি শিখি, তারপর স্কিল। এই ক্রমটাই ভুল, কারণ ইংরেজি শিখতে বছর লেগে যায়, আর ততদিনে ইচ্ছাটা মরে যায়।The second wall is more real: the best tutorials, documentation and courses are almost all in English. Many people stop here, thinking they should learn English first and the skill after. That order is wrong, because English takes years and the will dies long before that.

ঠিক পথটা উল্টো: স্কিল শিখতে শিখতে ইংরেজিটা আসুক। তিনটা কাজ আজই করতে পারেন:The right way round is the opposite: let English come while you learn the skill. Three things you can do today:

1. ইউটিউবের সাবটাইটেল অন করুন, আর বাংলায় অনুবাদ করে নিন। সেটিংস থেকে Subtitles > Auto-translate > Bengali। অনুবাদ নিখুঁত হবে না, কিন্তু ৮০ ভাগ বুঝে ফেলবেন, আর ওই ৮০ ভাগই কাজ চালানোর জন্য যথেষ্ট।Turn on YouTube subtitles and auto-translate them to Bangla. Settings, then Subtitles, Auto-translate, Bengali. The translation will not be perfect, but you will follow about 80 percent, and 80 percent is enough to work with.
2. যেটুকু বোঝেননি, AI-কে বাংলায় বুঝিয়ে দিতে বলুন। ইংরেজি অংশটা কপি করে পেস্ট করে দিলেই হয়। নিচে একটা তৈরি প্রম্পট দিলাম।Ask AI to explain the rest in Bangla. Copy the English part and paste it in. There is a ready prompt below.
3. পুরো ইংরেজি না, আপনার বিষয়ের ১০০টা শব্দ শিখুন। ডিজাইনের মানুষের জন্য layer, align, export, resolution। Excel-এর জন্য row, column, formula, filter। এই একশো শব্দ জানলে বেশিরভাগ টিউটোরিয়াল বোঝা যায়, আর একশো শব্দ শিখতে এক সপ্তাহও লাগে না।Learn 100 words from your field, not all of English. For design: layer, align, export, resolution. For Excel: row, column, formula, filter. Those hundred words unlock most tutorials, and learning them takes less than a week.

এই পথে ছয় মাস চললে দেখবেন টিউটোরিয়ালের ইংরেজি আর আটকায় না। ভাষাটা শেখা হয়ে গেছে কাজ করতে করতে, আলাদা করে বসতে হয়নি।Six months down this road and the English in tutorials stops blocking you. The language got learned through the work, without a separate seat for it.

দেয়াল ৩: মুখস্থWall 3: memorisation

তৃতীয় দেয়ালটা বাইরের না, ভেতরের। আমরা স্কুল থেকে শিখে এসেছি: পড়ো, মুখস্থ করো, পরীক্ষা দাও। তাই স্কিল শেখার সময়ও আমরা ভিডিওর পর ভিডিও দেখি, নোট নিই, আর ভাবি শেখা হচ্ছে। কিন্তু হচ্ছে না।The third wall is not outside, it is inside. School taught us to read, memorise and sit an exam. So while learning a skill we watch video after video, take notes, and believe we are learning. We are not.

ডিজিটাল স্কিলে শেখা মানে করতে পারা। ৫০টা Excel ভিডিও দেখার চেয়ে একটা সত্যিকারের হিসাবের শিট নিজ হাতে বানানো অনেক বেশি কাজে দেয়। একটা সহজ অনুপাত মাথায় রাখুন: ৩০ ভাগ দেখা, ৭০ ভাগ করা।In digital skills, learning means being able to do. Building one real spreadsheet by hand beats watching fifty Excel videos. Keep a simple ratio in mind: 30 percent watching, 70 percent doing.

• ২০০টা ফর্মুলা মুখস্থ না, ১০টা দিয়ে কাজ। পরিবারের মাসিক খরচের শিট বানান, যোগ-বিয়োগ, শতাংশ আর SUM, এটুকু দিয়েই শুরু। বাকিগুলো দরকারের সময় শিখবেন।Not 200 memorised formulas, 10 used. Build your family's monthly expense sheet with addition, percentages and SUM. The rest you learn when you need them.
• টিউটোরিয়ালের সাথে সাথে হাত চালান। ভিডিও থামিয়ে নিজে করে দেখুন, তারপর আবার চালু করুন। পুরো ভিডিও দেখে শেষে করতে বসলে অর্ধেক ভুলে যাবেন।Work along with the tutorial. Pause, do it yourself, then resume. Watch the whole video first and you will have forgotten half of it by the time you start.
• প্রতি সপ্তাহে একটা ছোট জিনিস শেষ করুন। অসম্পূর্ণ দশটা কাজের চেয়ে শেষ করা একটা কাজ অনেক দামি, কারণ শেষ করাটাও একটা আলাদা স্কিল।Finish one small thing every week. One finished piece is worth more than ten half-done ones, because finishing is a skill of its own.
• যা শিখলেন তা কাউকে বোঝান। বোঝাতে গেলেই ধরা পড়ে কোথায় ফাঁক রয়ে গেছে।Explain what you learned to someone. Explaining is what exposes the gaps.

মুখস্থের অভ্যাসটা ভাঙলে শেখার গতি নিজেই বেড়ে যায়, আর ৫০টা ভিডিওর বদলে ৫টা প্রজেক্ট হাতে থাকে। চাকরি বা ক্লায়েন্ট, দুই জায়গাতেই দ্বিতীয়টাই কাজে লাগে।Break the memorising habit and your pace picks up on its own, and instead of 50 videos you hold 5 projects. For a job or a client, it is the second one that counts.

টাকা ছাড়া শুরু করার ৩০ দিনের প্ল্যানA 30-day plan to start with no money

সবকিছু একসাথে করতে যাবেন না। নিচের প্ল্যানটা দিনে ৩০ মিনিটের হিসাবে বানানো, আর খরচ শূন্য:Do not try everything at once. The plan below assumes 30 minutes a day, and it costs nothing:

1. সপ্তাহ ১: একটা স্কিল বাছুন, একটাই। কোনটা আপনার জন্য সেটা বুঝতে কোন ডিজিটাল স্কিল আপনার জন্য লেখাটা কাজে লাগবে। এই সপ্তাহে শুধু টুলটা ইনস্টল বা খোলা, আর বেসিক ঘাঁটাঘাঁটি।Week 1: pick one skill, just one. The post on which digital skill fits you helps you decide. This week, only install or open the tool and poke around the basics.
2. সপ্তাহ ২: একটা ছোট প্রজেক্ট ধরুন। নিজের সিভি, পরিবারের খরচের শিট, বন্ধুর দোকানের একটা পোস্টার, যা-ই হোক। শুধু দরকারের জিনিসগুলো শিখুন, পুরো কোর্স না।Week 2: take on one small project. Your own CV, a family expense sheet, a poster for a friend's shop, anything. Learn only what the project needs, not a whole course.
3. সপ্তাহ ৩: শেষ করুন আর একজনকে দেখান। অসম্পূর্ণ রাখবেন না। শেষ করে কাউকে দেখান আর মতামত নিন। একজন শেখার সঙ্গী থাকলে এই ধাপটা অনেক সহজ হয়।Week 3: finish it and show one person. Do not leave it half done. Finish, show it and ask for feedback. One learning partner makes this step much easier.
4. সপ্তাহ ৪: দ্বিতীয় প্রজেক্ট, এবার অন্য কারও জন্য। এলাকার একটা দোকান, মসজিদ কমিটি, স্কুল বা পরিচিত কারও ছোট কাজ ফ্রিতে করে দিন। এটাই আপনার প্রথম সত্যিকারের ক্লায়েন্ট অভিজ্ঞতা, আর পোর্টফোলিওর প্রথম কাজ।Week 4: a second project, this time for someone else. Do a small job for free for a local shop, a school, a committee or someone you know. That is your first real client experience, and the first piece in your portfolio.
